Littoral chironomids and oligochaetes in the subalpine Lake Maggiore: a first dataset

نویسندگان

چکیده

A dataset of 227 oligochaetes and 373 chironomids occurrence records from the subalpine Lake Maggiore, a large deep temperate lake in Northern-Western Italy Switzerland was developed within Interreg Italy-Switzerland 2014-2020 Parchi Verbano Ticino Project (ID:481668) funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The belongs to national (LTER-Italy), (LTER-Europe) International (ILTER) long-term ecological research networks. Data were collected during summer-autumn period 2019-2021. Chironomids (Insecta, Diptera) (Annelida, Clitellata) identified genus/species gr./species level authors. All 600 are georeferenced organised standardised Darwin Core Archive format. These data gathered along littoral areas Maggiore will contribute development common implementation strategies for shared sustainable water management lake, with particular reference protected natural (sites belonging Natura 2000 network Emerald Network Switzerland). authors strongly believe great potential open access biogeographical studies context global environmental changes. For that reason, has been uploaded Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF), an intergovernmental free biodiversity infrastructure.

Picocyanobacterial community structure and space-time dynamics in the subalpine Lake Maggiore (N. Italy)

We investigated the community structure of freshwater picocyanobacteria (Pcy) in the oligotrophic subalpine Lake Maggiore (Northern Italy) using the least conserved sequences of the Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS-1) fragment. The aim was to characterize the succession of Pcy Operational Taxonomic Units (OTUs) during a seasonal cycle at two environmental niches with distinctive light, temperat...

efl students gender and socioeconomic status: the use of politeness strategies in the first and second languages

within the components of communicative competence, a special emphasis is put on the “rules of politeness,” specifically the politeness strategies (brown and levinson, 1978) that speakers deploy when performing the request speech act. this is because the degree of imposition that making a request places upon one’s interlocutor(s) has been seen to be influenced by several factors among which, as ...

DDT is still a problem in developed countries: the heavy pollution of Lake Maggiore.

The Zebra mussel (Dreissena polymorpha), one of the most widely used bioindicators of persistent organic pollutants, trace metals and radionuclides in several worldwide freshwater ecosystems, has been used to monitor DDT contamination trends in Lake Maggiore since 1996, caused by industrial effluents on a tributary of the River Toce, one of the major affluents of the lake. Dreissena specimens w...

Symphony Lake Dataset

This paper describes Symphony Lake Dataset, 121 visual surveys of an approx. 1.3 km lakeshore in Metz, France. Different from roadway datasets, it adds breadth to the space at a time when larger and more diverse datasets are desired. Over 5 million images from an unmanned surface vehicle captured the natural environment as it evolved over three years. Variation in appearance across weeks, seaso...

Trends in the chemistry of atmospheric deposition and surface waters in the Lake Maggiore catchment

The Lake Maggiore catchment is the area of Italy most affected by acid deposition. Trend analysis was performed on long-term (15-30 years) series of chemical analyses of atmospheric deposition, four small rivers draining forested catchments and four high mountain lakes. An improvement in the quality of atmospheric deposition was detected, due to decreasing sulphate concentration and increasing ...
